EUFEM is a non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in year 2007 to work independently of national authorities to promote a feministic European policy with the purpose of strengthening women’s human rights in Europe.
EUFEM:s work will focus on ending the global pattern of historical patriarchal dominance and the effects thereof to ensure a more effective implementation of the human rights for all without distinction of any kind, such as race, gender, religion or sexual orientation or other status.
The core focus of EUFEM is on preventing men’s violence against women and girls – our goal is to prevent and foresee men’s violence in the society by increasing the knowledge about its causes and consequences. There are no firm borders separating this specific question from other issues related to gender equality or discrimination, since the violence is connected and interlinked with general questions of equality and human rights. Therefore one of the aims for EUFEM will be to increase the general knowledge on human rights while at the same time inform about the causes, effects and consequences of men’s violence.
Our goal and purpose will mainly be achieved by spreading information about human rights and in particular the more specific human rights instruments talking about the rights of vulnerable groups, such as women and children. EUFEM shall therefore work from and for the achievement of the purposes and goals set out in international documents such as UDHR, ECHR, ICCPR, UNCAT, CRC, CEDAW, UN Platform for Action, and more recent and detailed treaties, documents and protocols related to women’s human rights.
EUFEM is open to anyone who agrees to abide by its purpose, principles and values, without distinction to race, colour, gender, sexual orientation, language, religion, national or social origin, birth or other status. The values of the organizationis is based on values found in human rights conventions and declarations and is thus based on the principle of equality of “man”.

EUFEM:s goal and purpose is to break the global pattern of historical patriarchal predominance and effect thereof in order to secure an efficient implementation of Human Rights.
Thought knowledge improvement of men’s violence against woman, violence causes and its consequences the organisation will be able to contribute to an efficient implementation of international legal instruments and conventions protecting women’s rights with the purpose of eradicating and preserve female from those crimes.
EUFEM is open to anyone who supports and agrees with our stated purposes, principles and values, without distinction to race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, national or social origin, birth or other status. The organisations key task is not only to promote knowledge and awareness in Human Rights and gender equality issues but also of provoking debate and dialogue between citizens thus creating better conditions for women's rights and human dignity.
